This is one of the very few photos, I have of my family & I together. (I am the little one who's face you can barely see).
Why Hire a Professional Photographer?
Time flies! As a lifestyles photographer who specializes in capturing precious family moments, time goes by faster than we often realize. We think, oh we should get a family photo, and boom the kids are all grown, or the family structure has changed, or grandma is no longer with us. If you have younger kids, I encourage you to take family photos every year. Older kids minimum of every 5 years.
Experience and Expertise. When you hire a professional photographer, you're investing in more than just pictures. You're bringing in experience, expertise, and an artistic eye that can transform simple moments into timeless works of art. From perfect poses to expert lighting, styling, and the magic of pre/post editing, these are the elements that make the difference between a snapshot and a masterpiece that will grace your walls for generations. (pre-editing - picking the perfect location/backdrop. For example, the above photo was taking at Christmas, there is a toothbrush in the foreground, and I am sure if this was in color our outfits would clash like crazy. lol Ahh the 70's).
Professionals have a camera. Yes, your smartphone might have a sensor with a lot of megapixels as many as a high-end camera. The difference is the sensor on your phone is very small in comparison to a quality camera. Meaning the pixels are smaller on a smart phone than on a camera. The photos taken with the camera will have more quality/information, it will adapt to light better and you be able to enlarge the images.
The difference in the phone camera and professional camera can be compared to someone who needs glasses not wearing them. You can still see and make out the image without the glasses, yet when you put the glasses on everything becomes more crisp.
Time flies, Life is unpredictable, and circumstances change. You never know when it could be your last family photo. I know firsthand the significance of photographs as I lost both of my parents before my 11th birthday, leaving me with fewer than six cherished pictures of us together. It's a poignant reminder that photographs are not just images; they are windows to our past, our stories, and our connections with loved ones. The photos are not only for you, Your kids will treasure them when they are grown.
You are in the photos. Someone needs be taking the photo, so usually a parent is missing. When you book a session with me, I'll insist that you step in front of the camera with your children. These images are treasures that evoke emotions, stir memories, and transport you back to those beautiful moments you shared.
In the end, you'll never regret having too many photographs of the people you hold dear.
So why hire a professional photographer? Because life is short, and every moment deserves to be captured in all its full beauty, with you included. Schedule your lifestyles portrait today, if not for you, for your kids to have pictures with those they love.
be happy,
be well
and be wealthy with memories.
